Been seeing a lot of Mctominay v Guendouzi tweets so I decided to look at how they compare in the four phases of play; Defending, Build Up, Creativity and Attacking Impact #MUFC #Arsenal

Defending: Unsurprisingly Mctominay comes out on top here. He has come on leaps and bounds this season with his tenacity, work rate and intelligence without the ball.
Scotts Defending Score: 72
Guendouzis Defending Score 54

Build Up: One of the main criticisms of Scott has been from a technical perspective and it shows. Guendouzis figures dwarf him with mateo ranking highly amongst midfielders in Europes top 5 leagues
Scotts Build Up Score: 51
Mateos Build Up Score: 89

Creativity: Both players are lacking somewhat here and to be fair it isn’t their main function in the team. Unsurprisingly Guendouzi edges Scott though.

Attacking Impact: The big differences's are in goalscoring, where Scott does relatively well due to his added goal threat this season, & and in progressive runs where Mateo has posted some very impressive numbers this season

It’s a tie although Guendou has overall more impressive numbers and being only 20, there is much more room to grow. However, as things stand, in my opinion Mctominay is more important and useful to #mufc
