Alright you bunch of fucking nerds it's time for a science lesson, welcome to EMF-ENGR101 (a thread) https://twitter.com/imjustbrum/status/1245833218634506240
5G like all forms of wireless communication uses electromagnetic radiation. This stuff is found literally everywhere including radio, microwaves, WiFi, infrared, VISIBLE FUCKING LIGHT, ultraviolet, X-rays and gamma rays. It's everywhere. You literally live in it every day.
5G works in the 6GHz band of EMF, which is higher than what your WiFi router (2.8GHz-5GHz) and microwave (2.8GHz) work at. You'll notice the crossover between your microwave and WiFi, and the difference is WiFi is in the milliwatts whilst your microwave works at 700-900 watts!
Visible light (y'know, the shit you use to literally SEE that your eyes have EVOLVED TO FUCKING DETECT) works in the frequencies ranging from 430-770 TERAHERTZ (which is to say, over 1000 times HIGHER FREQUENCY than what even 5G works at)!
With electromagnetic radiation, the energy of each photon (particle of light/EMF) is proportional to the frequency of which the particle oscillates at. Higher frequency = higher energy.
5G does have a higher energy per photon than a lot of device you have in your house, however you know what emits higher energy photons? LITERALLY EVERY DEVICE YOU HAVE THAT EMITS LIGHT! Hell even the light coming from your glowing stovetop is higher energy.
So what does this all mean? Well, higher energy photons are more capable of exciting the electrons in atoms, and when that happens if the energy is high enough they can be excited and jump up energy levels. This is where things begin to get significant.
The energy level of an electron in everyday terms is pretty much how far away it is from the nucleus (or centre) of an atom. The thing is, electrons get excited in all sorts of things all the time and nothing happens that would affect anything.
When you SHOULD be concerned is when the energy of the radiation reaches ionising levels. This is where the photon that excites the electron has enough energy to completely strip the atom of that electron which can then have all kinds of funky effects.
So when does ionisation happen? Well for a photon to be ionising the frequency has to be very high, which is to say anything from ultraviolet radiation upwards. Ever wondered why you have to wear sunscreen? That's why.
Ionisation is bad for humans because it can cause unwanted chemical reactions to occur and can damage DNA and tissues in the body. However, again this only happens with very high energy photons.
The frequency your microwave works at isn't even close to being ionising, but it works to heat up your food by completely blasting the everloving shit out of your food with a ridiculous amount of photons. This however still isn't ionising.
Back to 5G, these towers are designed to work with power so low that it is only really usable for transmitting information. If you even thought of trying to warm up yesterday's Chinese takeaway by sitting under a tower with it you'd be waiting a real fucking long time.
5G won't do shit to you, it won't cause cancer, it won't lead you to be more susceptible to COVID-19, it won't cause your chakras to be thrown out if balance and fill you with "negative energies" or any other bullshit like that. It'll just give you faster internet on the go.
Some people are trying to claim that it can cause radiation pneumonitis, a type of lung injury, which is total rubbish because that is only likely to happen if you go for something like a chest x-ray and the technician gives you a way higher dose than you should have had.
Long story short, the electromagnetic radiation emitted from your fucking TV remote is of a higher energy than 5G (because that's infrared) and that all forms of wireless communication are harmless to humans.
If you really want to burn something that's dangerous, go blow up a coal powerplant or set fire to a cruise ship (preferably when there's nobody in either). The emissions that come from these sorts of sources are ridiculously more harmful to human health than any 5G tower.
Anyway that's this lecture finished. If you learned something or just want to help stop the spread of bullshit anti-tech dark ages propaganda then maybe consider giving this thread a retweet to spread the word and help educate people.
If you have any more questions feel free to ask or drop me a message, I'd be happy to help.

Now I'm gonna go make some breakfast.
