i think i would like to start off by saying that it’s not just a jojotwt thing. i’ve seen this kind of behavior everywhere, in every fando, so to people who are saying they’re going to move fandoms, you’re very likely going to experience the same thing just with different people
this is what’s been happening on social media for a very long time now, it’s not anything new
whenever people start gaining a bigger following they absolutely lose their minds. they start thinking they’re some kind of celebrity, which is a very dangerous thing.
because at the end of the day the people who gain the most attention on here are minors, often literal children
i cant begin to imagine what damage this amount of clout at such a young age could do, its scary to think about
minors spend so much time consuming content involving celebrity drama here, on youtube, literally everywhere to the point where their point of view had been absolutely warped
so gaining followers they suddenly start to believe that they themself are some big drama accounts who can just say whatever they want, it probably won’t reach the person in question
they start imitating the behavior of rude, rich celebrities, start losing general compassion for others, hurting people without thinking much about it
but this is not what happens, none of us here are celebrities, we’re literally on the same level and i need you to understand that
but minors, it’s not exactly your fault. you’re just simply growing up in these times, many of you spend so much time online you have no idea how manipulative social media are
people creating all this drama content know exactly who their audience is, they know you’re going to start imitating them, all they’re after is the attention your going to give them
this is what happens and i need you to understand this and take this to heart if you really want to help to make social media healthier
another problem is that all of the content here is being sexualized, and of course you’re going to try imitating this scandalous behavior, people love seeing stuff like that
so you interacting with nsfw accs, something you should never do is sadly unavoidable. you’re curious about stuff, you see adults talking about it, you want in. i get that, but everytime you do that you’re putting yourself in danger
it’s dangerous for you, you have no idea how easy it is to fall a victim to grooming, it’s also dangerous because you keep imitating celebrities, so stuff like harassing others to the point of sending d/eath threats - you do this without thinking,
it’s something you see everywhere, everyday, you have no clue what consequences this might have
you see, people you follow here in fandoms aren’t those big celebrities with lawyers and money, they’re exactly like you
they see all of the horrible things you keep saying and it genuinely hurts them and usually they don’t have any way of dealing with it
another thing is problematic stuff in fandoms such as ships. i think everyone knows that macy people make content like that here
and this is where the things get a bit more difficult. as much as i do not like seeing any of it myself, and avoid it at all costs, it happens. this is why i don’t think people should keep posting it in public
i do not support any of the problematic content being made. and so i block accounts that i know make content that upsets me, i just don’t want to see it
however it’s very very important that you remember that if this content upsets you too you should never interact with accounts that make it
most of these people are simply problematic shippers who do not wish to interact with you but there will always be people who are waiting for you to interact with them
also keep in mind that there are many different people following people like that, you never know who will you meet. so do not put yourself out there and don’t make yourself known for accounts like these you’re putting yourself in danger
this includes making callout posts and harassment. don’t do that. tell your friends about them so they can block them too but don’t put your name there
you also need to remember that as bad as the content you will see is, no one deserves to be sent d/eath threats. don’t call me a p/edo apologist, i simply do not want people to get hurt
if those people start harassing you or being actually nasty (like they star talking about grooming and sexualizing actual children) report them or tell adults to do that for you. dont make any interactions
this is really the only way for you to be safe here, people will keep making content like that. i just wish they could do it in private so that you don’t have to see it
please understand the only thing i want is for everyone to be safe here. don’t harass others, work into making this platform a better place, please.
