Now that a lot are starting to farm at islands, here are some important things Councils should start working on early. Most produce will have short shelf life, so prior planning is important to ensure those can be supplied to markets and hard work of farmers don't go to waste.
1. Keep records of allocated farm plots in the island, and backyard farming if there is any (if not encourage)

2. Collect info on crops being grown. Check the status of growth, keeping in mind to plan ahead for expected harvest times for different crops.
3. Keep relevant authorities informed, specifically expected harvest times, amount, if plan is to sell through STO. Don't wait until the last minute.

4. Some or all produce maybe planned to be sold at island or atoll level, so plan ahead for this as well.
It's better if these can be coordinated at atoll level or with nearby islands, so that everyone benefit from a coordinated approach.

Govt will definitely have an important role in this agricultural expansion, but council can proactively play a vital role to assist farmers.
