2. Tonight on my shift, I’ve had to tell the family of a dying man, that they cannot see him, they cannot say goodbye to their dad, and they have to go home. Think about that for a minute, how it must feel to tell a family that?
This is after finding out one of my patients
3. had died yesterday, days after testing positive for the corona virus. This is happening all over but the patient group I look after, I really feel like they don’t deserve this. Battling cancer with every fibre of their being, having chemo, radiotherapy and everything that
4. comes with that and then to die alone, unable to have visitors, and to say goodbye to their loved ones. Wards unable to support families the way we want too because family can’t visit. How can this be happening, how is this fair? How an earth will families get closure? Can you
5. imagine your parent dying alone and not being allowed see them?

Don’t the public want to prevent this from happening? Why is it so hard to just stay inside. And the truth is I’m filled with dread, because I know this is only going to get worse."
