A closer look at Taeyong's lyrics on the topic of language: a thread

Despite Taeyong not being completely fluent in foreign languages, he is not afraid to use them in order to present a certain feeling in his lyrics.

English is a language Taeyong uses in almost all the songs he has written. Use of English phrases and words is widely used in kpop songs and Taeyong accommodates to this concept.

Taeyong wrote the lyrics for Long Flight all by himself but the song contains a lot of English despite it. He didn't let language barriers hold him back in expressing himself a certain way

English lyrics help communicate the songs better to an international audience for example as regular, which was heavily promoted to an American audience as well

And let's not forget that he also used Spanish in a rap verse once. These are affectionate expressions, and Taeyong has stated that he finds the Spanish language beautiful and used it to enhance that feeling in the lyrics

NCT 127 also makes songs in Japanese, which hasn't held him back from participating in lyric writing either. He wrote a rap section with Mark for the song Lips on their album Awaken

And then there is the masterpiece that is his rap verse in City 127, which contains both Korean, English, Japanese and Chinese. With this verse, he makes sure to include a larger group of fans as we all should enjoy Neo City with him.

I find it really sweet that he thinks to include several languages which can make many fans feel included and a part of the songs.
