While I agree that people, across differences, are "stupid", it's not fair to generalise the "stupidity", either in terms of religion (as the fascist project is revelling in Islamophobia) or class (as the affordability of "wisdom" is disproportionate). https://twitter.com/AsimAli6/status/1246112105985536001
While the "educated", "rational" folks start to preach about scientific temper to the "irrational" & "stupid" masses, it is important to account for the power imbalances, whether in terms of religion or class, and not fall into the trap of bothsidesism.
It's not fair to shift the blame of the mess from the fascist project and its gigantic machinery that is working to further its goals day in and day out to common people's susceptibility to "stupidity".

Yes, people are "stupid", but no, they are not the ones to be blamed.
It was indeed "stupid" of people to hold and attend religious congregations. It was also "stupid" for people to take to the streets on March 22nd. But it's not either of these people who are the real culprits here, it's the establishment that failed to educate the people.
To shift the attention (and blame) from the inefficiency (and bigotry) of the establishment to the lack of scientific temper among the masses wouldn't the best way to analyse the situation we find ourselves in. Ultimately, it's the same "stupid" people who are suffering the most.
