amazing female idol's vocals with evidence and reasoning: a thread
seulgi from red velvet has incredible range and control, and her ability to run up and down the scale from head to chest voice is insane. it's hard to pull off great pitch in the higher and lower register, and i think she does a great job.
hwasa from mamamoo has a low, raspy voice that kpop girl groups don't see very often, and it stands out to me the most of all vocalists. her natural rasp and vibrato is incredible, and i'm impressed that she can pull off powerful high notes while sticking to chest voice
iu has an AMAZING voice but she rarely sings songs to showcase it. she has wonderful range and her breath control is insane. i heard someone say that if she sang songs with more power then her vocals would shine and i agree.
baek yerin has an AMAZING higher register & she sounds very much like an indie artist. she has so much passion & power in her voice and my biggest critique is that she try & showcase more confidence when she sings bc she's incredible & it feels like she's afraid of her own voice
wheein from mamamoo has a well rounded voice that can pull off this deep, breathy tone with near perfect pitch and wonderful flow and vibrato, while also being able to sing power belt notes with riffs and growls that blow me away every time i hear her powerful vocals.
here's an example of her belts
solar from mamamoo has INCREDIBLE range and AMAZING technique. her voice is really unique and i almost think she was classically trained with the way she belts and captures audiences the way she does. she manages to pull of perfect dissonance with that ending belt... just listen.
ofc wendy made this list. she's easily one of the BEST vocalists in kpop PERIOD. she knows her voice inside amd out, and she knows exactly how to use it to make the audience feel exactly the emotion she wants to convey. she could be a western artist with her talent alone.
here are some more vids of hwasa singing bc her voice is underrated

here's an example of hwasa hitting high notes while using her chest voice. notice that she manages to hit these notes while fluctuating her pitch and crescendoing at the same time. her breath support is fucking INCREDIBLE, and the fluctuations on the decrescendo at the end... wow
i'll continue this thread as i remember/discover new artists. feel free to drop your own fav female vocalists!
