I'm taking to Twitter again, to vent and share my isssus with the non-local, on-rent residents that are occupying my society. To begin with, they have an issue with literally- EVERYTHING that the Indian government is doing/ not doing, that Pune police is doing/ not doing..(contd)
1. They fought against the rules of the society and are still using the gym + expecting a housekeeping crew to sanitize after them. 2. They travel to grocery shops all around as they can't live without their avocados and pizza cheese and then go down every evening, (contd)
as they can't stay 'indoors' despite the fact that all others are doing their workouts in the balconies, playing or listening to music at home- and we can see other societies around us too, they are all staying home patiently during this lockdown. 3. (Contd)
3. They are now complaining about the health officials who are coming to check the travel and health history of all flat members - with no respect for their work, they want them to "change their clothes" before visiting all flats and some "don't want them near me or in my house"
While I understand that we are all scared about letting people in our homes, the fact that this group of foreigners are using a society group to make fun of a dire situation and the people who are putting their lives at risk is undeniably stupid and selfish.
To point out, if they were back in their hometowns, they would be following the rules strictly and would think twice before attempting to step out for avocados and pizza cheese. They would welcome health officials who are putting their lives at risk and condemn others (contd)
who are not following the rules set by their local administration or the health workers at large. I find it ridiculous that in this whole group, all residents, including my parents, just choose to ignore their messages, while others laugh along with the 'goras'. (contd)
Have we, as a nation, still not learned to stand up against what is right, especially when it comes to foreigners who seem too believe that they are too privileged to follow our rules? Or wait, do these rules still not apply to goras? Thanks for following this thread if you did.
Just had to vent somewhere since my mom refuses to let me send them all a very beautifully worded message. If you have some ideas on how to handle this bunch of supposedly privileged residents, please let me know. For now, I'm done with whatsapp groups #socialdistancing
