All teacher training courses should include ( and be repeated in middle leader and NPQH courses) email etiquette:

*no ‘reply all’ unless everyone needs to see it
* clear email headings so people can delete without reading if appropriate
* no naming of children in heading
* no ‘telling off’ in emails
* no ‘come and see me’ without indicating what it’s about
* CC is for those that need to know but don’t need to respond
* no BCC behind people’s backs to snitch/cause trouble
* email hours 8-6
* no SLT weekend/holiday emails to staff (except emerg)
* everyone taught how to set timed emails
* expiry date put in email heading
* if an email is directly sent to you, you should reply (regardless of what you think about the content)
* all ‘for sale’, chain emails & memes banned
