This might turn into a wandering thread - bear with me, it’s still early.

In 2016 the Vote Leave campaign essentially pushed on the basis of funding the NHS.

The big red bus.

Lots who voted leave said afterward they never believed it.

But I think they did
I think they genuinely had in their hearts a wish to fund the NHS and the people there.

The lie from Gove and Johnson that the money would come from leaving the EU doesn’t change that.

I believe those people voted in good faith.
http://Leave.EU  - Farage, Tice, Banks et al campaigned on jingoistic war rhetoric, fear and immigration.

The ‘We one the war’ ‘Our sacrifice’ ‘dig for Britain’ mentality.

Farage likes to be pictured in Flanders at the graves of those who died protecting others.
But now we have a real battle.

And those risking their lives that others may live are the medical staff.

And - as in WW2 - we are in desperate need of our allies.

Sadly it seems that the USA under Trump in this, our greatest hour of need, is not that.
And to feed the nation through and after this, we will have to ‘dig for Britain’

Farage is already calling for it - but is conspicuously absent for the reality of it.

The ‘man of the people’ means others should do it. Not him.
Comets the hour, cometh the man.

Those who step forward are true heroes - and they wear inadequate medical protection as the Tories chose not to fund them.

And Brexit stopped all real thought of them.

The cowards disappear from sight
At this time of greatest need, Home Secretary Patel, Leader of the house Mogg, Foreign Secretary Raab are all AWOL.

Brexit champions like Francois, Cash and others have fled the field of battle.

Lest we forget.
