Covid 19 and the rights of disabled people.

This is important stuff and another reminder that all healthcare needs to be individually considered.

Being disabled is NOT the same as being ill, and it’s certainly NOT the same as being frail. https://www.disabilityrightsuk.org/news/2020/april/covid-19-and-rights-disabled-people
There are many tools to assess whether someone is frail, including the widely used Rockwood one.

They don’t work well for younger people who are disabled and shouldn’t be used in that context.

Tools are dangerous in the wrong context, like a hammer to swat a fly on the window.
I remember from my brother’s experiences... being disabled often felt like one long battle to be heard, treated as an equal, be taken seriously.

Is it any wonder people are currently cynical and scared in the context of #COVID19 ?
