honestly my biggest pet peeve are adults in fields with children/teens (teaching, etc.) that have a horrible sense of social judgement and disregard blatant discrimination

we must promote social education trainings for teachers, coaches, etc. especially in rural areas that lack resources and funding to access that. otherwise, vicious cycles of homophobia, fatphobia, sexism, etc. only moves through a lot easier.

i’d like to highlight this point in contexts where majority of students are POC and have white teachers/adult figures. from experience, this is where a lot of ignorance is disregarded, recycled, sometimes encouraged, and eventually indoctrinated by youth.

in turn, minority youth internalize said harmful rhetoric and it infectiously seeps into the rest of minority communities.
