To the few people who may end up seeing this, is there any song, photo, etc that’s essentially a key to imagining your entire childhood? I just listened to Moa’s Song from the Minecraft Aether ost after watching some Tobuscus minecraft videos and I cried real hard.
I’m honestly unbelievably grateful for the experiences I’ve been granted in my childhood, ranging from Youtube, Minecraft, Spiral Knights (probably the most influential to me), and even my elementary/middle school years despite how hellish they were.
I’m grateful for my younger self’s ability to simply enjoy everything without any care for the very obvious flaws. I’m glad there was a time I could enjoy Spiral Knights so much despite the issues I constantly faced. I’m glad I could play Minecraft and let my creativity run wild.
I’m so grateful for the content creators from the early 2010s and how their works have influenced me. All these memories came rushing through me after I listened to that song, and despite how much I miss those days, I don’t really want to relive them.
Memories are very weird and always amplify the emotions they cause. I know that these events I’ve had aren’t near as great as I remember them to be, but I’m glad I remember them the way I do. This joy they give me makes me all the more happy, and I wouldn’t want it any other way.
If you somehow stumbled onto this thread and read the whole thing, I’d like to say that I’m very grateful for your time. The emotions I felt tonight mean a lot to me and I’m really glad I’m able to share them, giving people a tiny glimpse of the life little me had.
