My take on Jah's art work of Anne with an E ♡ | a thread. @jah447798

"it's not what the world holds for you, it is what you bring to it - anne with an "e"

P.S: I apologize for being late. It took me six days to finish 3 seasons of this wonderful series!

Disclaimer:

I will do my best not to spoil anything about the plot, but this will be more on Anne's personality. I will not reveal other characters' names as well to be safe. However, better to watch the series first.♡

The contents of this thread are mere understandings of mine and therefore does not exactly reflect the perspective of the artist.

And this will be a little messy 'cause I just finished watching and I'm still having the feels kdjdk

Let's get started!

I guess this thread will be more on "describing" Anne more than interpreting since Jah drew a portrait of her.

I must say that the first episode already got me, the intro and the whole story was full of aesthetic. No doubts why Justin decided to draw Anne!

@SB19Official #SB19
In S2 episode 2, there was a character who drew Anne, that can be also one of Jah's inspiration to also make an art of her.

...and before I forget Amybeth McNulty was the one who played the role! @AmybethMcnulty

Let's get into the details.♡

HAIR: Anne considers her red hair as the bane of her existence. One character even called her "carrots". Justin drew the braids so well tho!

"I wish I were a tree. Then I would have different hair for every season." - Anne

FRECKLES: Jah got it very well! In the series, Anne was found unattractive because of her red hair and freckles. But personally, the freckles are one of my favorite things about Anne.♡

@SB19Official #SB19
In reality, Amybeth has freckles too but not as much as Anne's. These marvelous freckles take 30-45 minutes to do. Appreciate!

LIPS: Anne has a habit of chewing her bottom lip when thinking, but she always thinks, so...

"Mine are awful. Like the fat caterpillars that live in our old willow tree." - Anne

But a character disagreed and said, "They are perfectly pink and luscious."

@SB19Official #SB19
FLOWER: Anne loves flowers, indeed. I guess the one she's holding is a branch of a cherry tree. I have googled a little and it said that the tree represents the beauty of life, which is perfect for Anne's outlook about her surroundings. +

@SB19Official #SB19
She also mentioned that she sees the cherry tree as a "bride".

HAT & DRESS: Justin drew her so well.♡ The hat and the dress are undeniably similar!

@SB19Official #SB19
Despite the people who kept on telling her she's trash, she have accepted her looks and the way she is.

"But because in my maturity, I've come to the happy, evolutionary opinion that I am unusual and I embrace it." - Anne

Anne has such a brave heart and outstanding personality. She's also in love with words.

Maybe Jah used highfalutin words for his caption last time because just like Anne said, "If you have big ideas, you have to use big words to express them, haven't you?"

@SB19Official #SB19
Considering that this photo of Jah making the art work was tweeted last February 06, 2020 and uploaded it on March 27th, may convey that he took time to do it and poured his heart in creating the A'TIN art work. In conclusion, big ideas/emotions = big words.

@SB19Official #SB19
Jah also mentions "Justin without an E" maybe because of A'TIN without s, or probably because of the series itself and not just because people misspell his name.♡

@SB19Official #SB19
Overall, I trusted the first thing that came into my mind the moment I saw Jah's art work of Anne, which is "freedom".

And I realized that it was right after watching 3 seasons of Anne with an E. I'd rate this series a 10/10 as it opened my mind to +
