I love Zelgius but I can never compete with Daisuke Izuka who basically busted a nut upon his creation.
I forget the exactly wording in the interview but he had “shivers down his spine” just when they were designing him. I still to this day believe Levail is his self-insert.
Since he was an artist he also is kind of the reason we have the only canon shirtless plot relevant scene in all of FE. Like dude is in love. Especially when you see his art in heroes. In Tellius BK has looser clothing under his armor. Feh? Skin tight.
Also when Daisuke took over cipher as director we immediately got two Zelgius cipher cards. One of which is shirtless. I wish I could love Zelgius as much as this man.
Did they also nerf Zelgius lore because of Daisuke’s thirst? I am still mad that the collector’s book has his hobbies, likes, and dislikes a mystery. Please I want to know more. Daisuke I know you know why did they stop you.
At least I learned about how bizarre his physical upbringing was. Gjmanckx they didn’t even tell us what kind of branded he was. Even Petrine’s is known! (Tiger). No I have to infer he’s a raven because of the shape of his jaw, eye color, and Tibarn’s unending hatred for him.
The Tibarn bit is solid proof. Because Tibarn loves herons and his battle dialogue with Sephiran is like “oh come on. Don’t be like that haha” but Zelgiu? Who saved his people from a massacre is regarded at the top of his hit list because he can smell the gd Raven blood.
Anyways. I have scoured so much of the internet for even a glimpse of more Zelgius info and I found that Daisuke is probably hoarding it all for himself.
He was even leaking some through Cipher. You know the shirtless card? Calvary unit. We also got Greil and his horse card because he was a rider for Daein. And it was just nice to learn that Zegius was at one point a horse girl.
But because he cannot age normally he took to an armored class so no one could see him and out him. Still pretty sad his voice gives him away. And he keeps the gd Raven class growths so not only is he high skill from calvary but he also can double.
I do hate that I have to run around in all fours to put this together but at least I am learning new things. Aside from biracial trauma making him seek battle as a form of both self harm and external validation.
Daisuke what happened to you to make you love him this much. How much of this is your fault I want to know so bad. I hate Fire Emblem.
All I can do is run in my little wheel and explain how in game mechanics and speech patterns make him a bottom. Gosh he speaks so softy and politely I really do hate this game.
I just want to know. What he likes to eat. Does he like cats like Jeritza who is so heavily based on him? Can he sew? Daisuke-san please answer.
Well at least I know he has daddy issues, biracial speacial edition low-self esteem, big heart, is kind of dumb, bisexual and gets pegged. Which is entirely my brand. I will be thankful for what I have...

Also interesting interview because it gives some insight to workplace sexism. We almost didn’t get rat ponytail Shinon because of it. I’m glad Ms. Wada came through.

Zelgius was created out of themeatic horniness. I love you son much Daisuke. But also. Give me more. Please.
Oh this is where I should yell about Levail not getting a profile but Hetzel getting one. I’m even more starved for Levail content. And Daisuke is the only one to have made art for him outside of the game.
Like his entire arc in RD is being. Mistrustful of Zelgius. Not getting the hype. Getting the hype. And then falling so very hard in love he betrays his country, disowns the goddess herself, and dies while calling Zelgius anata on his very last breath.
I am the world’s only Levail stan and I will make you love him as much as he loves Zelgius.
I’m so certain he’s Daisuke’s self-insert because of how far he goes for Zelgius. Zelgius makes a request for him not to hurt Micaiah. And in game on that map. If you have Micaiah fight him he just won’t attack at all. Not even counter attack.
He stays in place. Let’s you attack first which is a mirror of how Zelgius approaches combat too. And his only dying regret is being unable to stay with Zelgius longer.
He’s regarded as the Camus of the game. But like he’s the Camus to another Camus to a half Camus. It’s like this sad gay chain of messy feelings. Tellius duology wasn’t half bad maybe.
Levail not being allowed in anything other than RD really makes me think. That was Daisuke himself.
My point is I hate Fire Emblem. But everything related to Zelgius is good and queer.
