The Trump administration plans to pay hospitals for COVID-19 treatment for the uninsured, which will be a relief for patients. Caveats:

Patients could still get big bills from doctors.

People who seek care and end up not having COVID-19 could still end up owing full charges.
Doctors, even when providing care in hospitals, generally bill patients separate from the hospital.
The Trump plan to pay hospitals for treating uninsured patients with COVID-19 would use Medicare prices. That idea of providing health care to people who are uninsured at lower government-controlled prices sounds familiar, but I can't quite place it.
