1. Tomorrow’s Times. “Britain has painted itself into a corner with no clear exit strategy from the coronavirus epidemic”

I wasn’t aware that ‘Britain’ had done anything wrong. In fact this ‘Briton’ has been advocating an approach to #COVID19 with a clear exit strategy.
2. The Times should be saying, “The British government has painted itself into a corner with its bungled pandemic response.”

According to the government’s lead pandemic modeller, Britain now needs to face a trade off between harming the old and harming the young.
3. This is why one uses the time gifted by an approaching pandemic to prepare, to avoid being trapped in precisely this situation, led by the fools who got us into this mess and who are now advocating a policy that will result in untold suffering to get us out.
4. This government must stop listening to number crunchers. Boris Johnson has likened the struggle against #COVID19 to a war. Where are our warriors? Where are the generals who will fight for every life regardless of whether it is threatened by the virus or economic collapse?
4. Professor Medley has said we need to let the people of Britain catch the virus in the least deadly way possible. That means putting the NHS under immeasurable strain and standing by as millions of people get sick and hundreds of thousands die.
5. Anyone who advocates such a policy isn’t fighting a war. They’ve surrendered, and they have no business being anywhere near the levers of government. There is a way out of the mess the government’s got us into. It’s articulated very well here. https://twitter.com/globalhlthtwit/status/1246131580499906561
6. The government’s advisers need to stop being defeatist. They must stop being unimaginative and lazy. If we want to save lives and resuscitate the economy we’re going to have to work like a country at war. That means a whole of government, whole of society approach.
7. It means we have to fight the virus on multiple fronts. We have to be innovative. We have to be determined. Anyone still peddling this herd immunity policy should be ashamed. This isn’t a conflict between young and old. This virus touches all of us. https://twitter.com/dannylawphoto/status/1246112575105925120
8. We’ve had a glimpse, a tiny taste of the misery the herd immunity advocates want to unleash upon the British people. https://twitter.com/ExpressandStar/status/1245993135278260224
9. We pay our taxes and ultimately the government answers to us. Herd immunity is unacceptable. Prolonged lockdown is unacceptable. We need to demand better of the people who are supposed to be public servants and act in our best interests. They’ve messed up badly.
10. And now they want people to willingly die to fix the problem. Not going to fly. Be better. Work harder. Work smarter. Come up with another solution. And in case you missed it, the answer is in here. Do your jobs. Earn the money the public puts in your pockets. https://twitter.com/globalhlthtwit/status/1246131580499906561
