Coronavirus update, US and International.

First US.

New York may be nearing a peak in cases, but the worst is not over yet. 500 deaths a day is unbearable. And the death rate...actually is increasing.
As Birx said today...California and Washington appear to be peaking. They have done an excellent job of social distancing and maximizing their ability to suppress the surge and flatten the curve. Here is CA:
Here is Washington...if anything, they look even better!

Inslee and Newsom deserve a lot of credit here.
Michigan, on the other hand, is the new hotspot. They are not close to peaking.
Louisiana looks similar.
Florida is accelerating.
So far we have not been successful to really suppres or bend the disease curve, other than WA and CA. I am sure other states will likely be successful as WA and CA (I am fairly optimistic about my home state of Ohio). States that delay, however, will have the same results.
Our number of deaths were 1300...today alone. That is catastrophic....and the curve suggests that rate will continue for another week or two.

France is the only one in the same boat as us right now...and they are actually worse off, though probably farther along the curve.
Italy and Spain appear to be peaking...but they are both losing around 800 people a day (which would be 4-5k deaths in relative terms for us).

Here is Spain:
Germany is looking better and better. They may be the only European nation that may successfully flatten the curve. They may even be peaking.
News out of South Korea, Singapore and China aren't great. All three appear to be having a recurrence; enough that they are shutting down certain schools and other venues again.
