thank you @AntBreach. ok let’s start with SKIN!! sharks’ skin is made of dentine, which is (you guessed it) the same stuff teeth are made of! indeed, each tiny placoid scale on a shark has a jagged, tooth-like shape, meaning that if you rub a shark the wrong way? ouch!
shark fact 2. this abrasive texture meant that historically, sharks were hunted for their skin (called shagreen), which was often used to cover sword-hilts because it provided such a good grip. sometimes it was used ornamentally too.
shark fact 4. sharks are much brighter than is generally assumed, and have everything we’d normally class as “personality” in mammals.

lemon sharks, who often grow up in collective nurseries, have been shown(1) to make friends as pups that they keep for life.
