1/ in a fun thread with my friend @mhluongo I showed how ethereum’s @TornadoCash is a 100% custodial mixer, and devs can confiscate all funds at any time.

Naturally I was attacked by shills, calling me a troll, saying tornado wasn’t promoted as ready. But twitter doesn’t forget:
2/ Here’s a Tornado dev asking consumer wallets to implement tornado into their wallets: https://twitter.com/rstormsf/status/1158894547243376641
3/ Here’s @ameensol doing the same https://twitter.com/ameensol/status/1160447800405942272
4/ @TrustWalletApp (owned by Binance and promoted to Binance users) accepts, after Vitalik intervenes (V deleted his tweet since then) https://twitter.com/trustwalletapp/status/1159013943077154816
5/ @VitalikButerin himself says .eth domain registration should by default use tornado (again, a 100% custodial mixer) https://twitter.com/vitalikbuterin/status/1216756026919096320
6/ Gnosis founder @koeppelmann says that ETHEREUM WHALES should deposit their stash into Tornado, A CUSTODIAL MIXER https://twitter.com/koeppelmann/status/1210274124855173121
7/ honestly there are COUNTLESS of other examples but I won’t bore you with the details. For months now the top Ethereum leaders pushed consumers (AND WHALES) to use a centralized, custodial mixer. They knew it was custodial. They just didn’t tell you.
Addendum/
I think privacy is important and tornado is a nice proof of concept. It has many other issues in addition to this one. I hope they’re all solved one day, and I applaud anyone helping to get there.

BUT the people promoting it as ready to use are reckless with YOUR money
