Since I can't visit my dad right now, I'm back to having a bit more time for my own endeavors.

Lately, I've been thinking more and more about some of the GREAT stories we all have from our various travels and adventures—tales of hardship, comedy, or Type 2 fun...

Remember back before social media, when we actually got together IN PERSON and told each other about our travel adventures?

Instead of just scrolling past some photos in an otherwise endless stream of content, we intently watched them describe the adventure with their whole body
...wincing at their description of that awful hotel room, or laughing at the absurdity of some situation they found themselves in, or smiling ear-to-ear when they told us why that sunrise with their son was so incredibly magical.

I want more of that. More authentic stories...
...and less of the sanitized, carefully edited, SEO-friendly posts that make every trip seem like a perfect ad.

Travel can be messy, rewarding, sucky, and exciting—all in the same day. It's those personal stories that stick with you; that add color to the report on their trip...
So..let's share some travel stories!

To that end, I'm launching a little project called "So Here's What Happened"

Simply:
1. Record short 2-8min video of your travel story
2. Submit it to http://SoHeresWhatHappened.com
3. Subscribe to the free email list to receive everyone's stories!
A few more details on @SoHeresWhatHapp'ened:

1. Yes, I really do want to hear YOUR travel story.

You don't have to have the "Most. Unbelievable. Story. Ever." Just an authentic one that you'd be excited to tell your friends about. Don't be nervous; just be yourself.

2. Yes, video is best. We want to see your personality come alive when you tell your story. But if you refuse to shoot a quick video, send us an audio story instead.

3. You can subscribe to the email list for free, and you can subscribe without submitting a story.

...
4. We'll launch the first email in a week or two, depending on submissions. I'm not yet sure on how many we'll include in each email, or how regularly we'll send them; we'll figure that out as we go.

5. You can leave video comments on the website—unless they're abusive.

3 reasons you should submit your own video story:

1. Share your experience. We want to hear about it!

2. Reliving your own travels is *really* good for the soul—especially right now!

3. What, you got something else to do right now? 😝
