In things I worry about, a lack of ventilators will affect the average age of mortality, because the ventilators save the young who fall ill. And the average age of US coronavirus patients is already skewing younger than abroad.
And in other things I worry about, when there is a lack of vital equipment, the rationing decisions could easily include the bias that keeps the poor, people of color, the disabled and the uninsured from access to life-saving measures.
