Pros and cons of ole as manager.
Thread: RTs appreciated
Pro: Dressing room.
There is no actual way to measure this, however, all the players seem happier than they did before mourinho’s departure, and we know that he lost the dressing room.
Pro: Formations.
While the tactics haven’t been perfect, the formations haven’t been bad. The system used to defend and counter attack against big teams has been amazing.
Neutral: Certain players improvements.
While the likes of rashford and lindelof have improved massively under ole, however, pereira and lingard were much better under ole.
Con: Individual instructions
While formations have been okay, more specific tactics have been limited or poor. AWB has played in a wingback role to make up for a lack of quality at the right wing position, however, he does not have the ability going forward to do this.
There is also a lot of disorganization in the defensive line, specifically when facing opposition counter attacks.
Con: Bad subs and starting XI selections.
A perfect example of this would be the most recent match against city.
XI:
Ole decided to pick Luke Shaw as a CB despite having two natural CBS on the bench (Bailly and Tuanzebe). He also started James as a striker alongside Martial despite having two strikers on the bench (Igahlo and Greenwood).
Subs:
As Ole made his substitutions, the formation united played in changed in odd ways. For example, at one point, united were set up in a 5-3-1-1, with James as a lone striker. Later, he removed James as well, leading to no attackers on the field.
