Population wide contact tracing, testing and isolation of individuals should allow us to get out of lockdown, and stay out of it. Although it seems obvious as the policy to pursue the UK government are not grasping it. I've attempted to quickly cost it up /1
to show the economic case for it is clear. These are quick & rough calculations (please do correct and refine them!-comment below) but surely it's obvious that the benefits are at least an order of magnitude higher than the costs of not doing it (21 times higher by my estimate):

If you see anything that makes it look like the benefits may not outweigh the costs please highlight that. Small changes also very welcome (even though they won't change the bottom line that this is an obviously beneficial policy and it does not make sense to not do it).
