There's a real distinction within what you might call "the left intelligentsia" between the downwardly mobile children of professional class people and people who are the children of working class people or who working class themselves.
This also gets reflected in the ways the movement is understood by outsiders. The reason why Chapo and Will Mennecker (among others) get elevated by professional class liberals is precisely because of classism. Just my take.
Chapo is just the Daily Show for Twitter. It isn't politically important. It isn't central to any movement. But it gets made the face of the movement by outsiders either because it serves as a cudgel or because looking elsewhere would require listening to working class people
BTW: using the show or posts as an excuse for shitty, anti-poor politics is depraved and disgusting. Far worse than anything anyone on that show has ever said, including Amber.
