Gov. Abbott says as of this afternoon:
- More than 55,000 Texans have been tested for COVID-19
- 5,478 have tested positive
- 91 confirmed deaths
- 827 people who've been hospitalized, a rate of 15% of those who have tested positive

The Texas Governor says the company Abbott Labs is providing the state rapid-response testing. Abbott says they have so far provided 10,000 tests across 7 hospital locations. There should be 20,000 of these tests available each week.
As this time, there are 19,695 total beds available in Texas, that's about 41% of the total reported beds. Abbott says there are in total 8,741 ventilators.
Dr. John Zerwas is now talking about the state’s five levels to increase bed capacity. Within these different categories the staff would increase staff, expand to operating rooms, freestanding ERs, ambulatory systems, etc.
