I see so many people depressed here (mostly guys) and it's so sad. I legit just wish we could hang out and have a nice time together eating talking and watching stuff. Life doesn't suck, guys, but you gotta make something out of it for yourself. You deserve it.
I spent a huge part of my life depressed. Like 10-12 years. My depression wasn't the staying in bed for a whole day kind, I could still go to school, study, get good grades, socialize and such. But I was always sad, tired and felt like something was wrong all the time. I get it
Things got better with a lot of therapy and some medication (both for years, but the process varies a lot from person to person). You really gotta get in there (therapy) and face your fears and demons to heal. What is waiting for you on the other side of depression is beautiful.
I can say now that I am recovered from depression. After all these years. If I can do it, you can do it too. But you gotta fight for it. AND LOVE YOURSELF. BE YOUR BEST FRIEND. YOU DESERVE FIGHTING FOR YOUR LIFE. YOU ARE WORTH IT. YOU ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT PERSON IN YOUR LIFE.
I dealt with my trauma (it's a process. Still in it.) Things really changed when I realized I could create a safe space inside of myself at all times. No matter what happens on the outside, I can look at myself and say: "I got you. It's going to be fine. You're always safe here."
That happened when I started respecting myself, accepting everything about me (even bad parts), saying NO to things I didn't want, going after things I really want. It's hard sometimes, but it's worth it. Believe me. Accepting, loving and respecting yourself changes everything.
I'm always open to talk about mental health stuff since I've been through quite some hell and am studying psychology to help others. If you have questions, my replies and DMs are open. I just want you guys to see the potential that you have. (continues in the next tweet)
By potential, I don't mean "YOU CAN BE RICH, SUCCESFUL, A CEO, MARRIED, WITH KIDS". I mean potential for life, love and happiness. To fight for what matters to YOU, not other people. To find your purpose. To be scared and human, but still do it. We all have that potential.
You're all beautiful and good enough. Now we just gotta be brave, work on ourselves and build something worth living for. Ask for help. You can do it. Fight for yourself. And thanks for listening to me ❤️
