Something I was thinking about last night and this morning is the difference between schooling and education. I am a certified teacher in 7-12 social studies currently in AL (previously OH and MD). I am prepared to teach students about history, geography, economics etc 1/n
I am a trained educational psychologist and am prepared to teach courses in Ed psych, methods and stats. For a school setting, I am trained.

I am not trained in early childhood education. I am not trained in home schooling.
And this is where I see the difference between school and education. To work in schools, to teach and prepare the masses we must be trained. And to be clear I believe this is essential (I do not agreee with any person with a degree teaching our children in schools).
Now, these people and muscle right now are providing an education.
I am educationing my children but I might not be doing it well. I am not trained.

Therefore, I think we need to stop saying we are home schooling are children. Most of us are not. We are educating them
Muscle =myself- I was practicing my conflict resolution during this thread
