Ok, so you are talking about literally destroying the current socio-economic order and replacing it with a completely different one

Now, right now, we do have some disagreements on what that new social order will look like on the left, and that's also a big problem for this movement/ideological grouping; mostly however we're talking about a shift from competition/capitalism to mutual aid/firewall capitalism

No matter how this change is accomplished, it's a revolution; even if not a single shot is fired - we're not just talking about changing America either because the Americanized form of capitalism is basically a world scourge. This is a pretty big deal, and it's hard to do.

Now, studying the history of both left wing revolutionary movements and Dem Soc political waves, I can say with some certainty that the only successful formula for a revolution (of any kind) is banding the bottom of the economic/social pyramid, against the top.

Whether we're talking militant revolutions (Cuba), electoral political takeovers (Latin Pink Tide), general strikes (Scandinavian socialism) or passive non-violent resistance (India) the movements that got anywhere, the lefties that won something, the times justice prevailed (ct)

we were organized around class, we maintained class solidarity, this gave us numerical superiority and we threatened to use it - sometimes the system actually does give up without a real life shooting war, but it NEVER gives up until it's afraid of "the masses" - ever ever.

This is why, any organizing we do to overturn the neoliberal/neofeudalist social order, is absolutely going to have to be based on class. It is the only way, we are not going to reinvent the wheel - we need to do what has always worked for us at the bottom of the S/E pyramid.

It's also why the term "progressive" is useless - it doesn't mean anything by itself, it's simply a collection of "all good left wing things" that specifically writes class out of the story; for a reason, so the bougies can run your movement - obviously.

As a term, progressive can be defined by anyone, as nearly anything - because again it's just a lose collection of vaguely left wing "good things" - left up to you to interpret as you like; this is why Pelosi and even Clinton have at times called themselves progressive.

If you're not racist, sincerely cherish the LGBT community's right to get legally married and you recycle twice a week - congrats, you're progressive. Never mind that you oppose M4All, hate poor people and think "union bully power" is a thing that even exists.

For example.

If we're going to win, no matter which of the four previously successful paths we choose to take - we're going to have to organize around class; and if we do that, they will declare all out war on us.

There is no scenario where hugging it out with the center & bougies gets the goods.

This is it. Nobody asks to live in interesting times. Nobody asks to fight a class war they didn't even declare.

But if we want to win; this is the ONLY FUCKING WAY mates.
