i dont think that emo reactionary still does emo album of the day so im gonna do it. Day 1: End Serenading by Mineral. Very soft album with Christian influences. Gentle vocals and intricate, heartfelt lyrics delivered over long, whiny guitar strokes. Big recommend.
crap i forgot about this sry. okay today we have something that may not be traditionally considered emo. we’re gonna have a few of these. may more closely be defined as slow-core, but this album is emotional and deep enough to qualify. super surreal sounding music, Big recommend.
i’ll make up for yesterday’s absence by including this album today. empire! empire!’s what it takes to move forward. good crying music, very high, whiny vocals with beautiful lyrics. surely Mineral inspired. Big recommend.
Okay before the day is completely done day 4 i think. We’ve got This town needs guns self titled. Again not traditionally considered emo, but the twinkly mathy guitars over long vocal delivery makes it qualify. Big recommend
Day 5: one of my favorites to come out of the emo revival thing. Have Mercy’s The Earth Pushed Back. their drummer recently passed, RIP. this album is good for after a breakup. some harsh vocals and hard hitting lyrics. got to see them perform this album live. Big recommend
Day 6: springbreaknoparents by Leer. (Gonna be including skramz in this thread) The shrill unclean vocals are unmatched by any of their contemporaries in terms of consistency and piercing aggression, all while maintaining a calm demeanor/ambience. + Mathy guitars = BIG recommend!
