From LGBTQ+ and mental health representation to saving lives: I’m EXPOSING SS501’s Park Jungmin
(as the best man I know).
(as the best man I know).
Jungmin’s debut as a soloist “Not Alone”, was the first k-pop music video to include LGBTQ+ representation. A Really big feat back in 2011.
The lyrics for Not Alone were written by Jungmin & give a beautiful and hopeful message to people dealing with Depression. Once again, back in 2011 mental health issues were hardly addressed in the kpop scene.
Despite a lawsuit against his agency CNr Media & the court's decision to end his contract (as CNr was straight up not paying him), he attended ALL schedules previously set, as a promise to his fans.
He also ended up agreeing to a way smaller financial compensation.

Once that legal process was over he fainted due to exhaustion while on a schedule. He hasn’t stopped working overseas, and has built a humble, scandal-free, 15-year-old career since his debut in 2005.
Jungmin SAVED A MAN’S LIFE during his community service in 2017, performing cpr until an ambulance arrived.
Jungmin does donations and charity concerts, mostly for children with special needs. He volunteered and performed in different events to aid victims of the 2011 Japan earthquake, & stood outside the venue at Yokohama to collect donations himself.
Love and support his members above everything else & never fails to keeps fans updated when they interact. Has stated multiple time they are not disbanded. SS501’s activities, should they happen, are considered in his contracts.
Cried the hardest at SS501’s last fanmeeting. He actually cried so hard he could deliver his message. Said it was ok, that we’ll hear it next time.
Currently manages himself under “TRIPLE S ENTERTAINTMENT”. Of course, he named the agency after SS501's fandom, Triple S

upon learning that Chilean fans were cheated out of their money while on his first tour, he promised to hold a fanmeeting in Chile as soon as possible & of course, he delivered.
“I want people to know how I grew up from IDOL Park Jung Min to ARTIST Park Jung Min. Of course; I know it might look like a role play, but the character I chose is part of the ‘real me’”
Speaks Korean, Japanese, and Chinese fluently, and is interested in learning new languages, so he can communicate his feelings towards his fans.
His Japanese fandom is called Kasok, as in Family. They literally address eachother as “family”

Here he is getting jumpscared by a fan in a scary mask lol.

Predebut he was the model for a condom commercial. That’s not relevant to this thread, just hilarious. He’s never embarrassed to talk about it tho bc sex safety is v important !!
I could go on for days on why this human is my favorite human but this is already too long, so idk, stream XTC or smth:
