Story time, the Journey to Digicel
Soon let’s take it back to Dec 2015 when I was served termination papers one month after graduation and while having pancakes, eggs and bacon at Cannonball New Kingston.

After I worked and went to school at the same time to avoid this.. this happened
After I would randomly cry for 2 days, it was job hunting time, which at the time there was an emergence of social media jobs and with 2 years experience, I was getting interviews like crazy.. suh me a look and say.. this nuh bad. LOL
Between December 2015 - February, I did about 12 interviews. But not landing any jobs - cause some said My salary ask was too much or links 🤷🏽‍♀️. One company called me in for a 1st and 2nd interview.. offered me the job.. and took it back 4 hours later
Bam applied to be a customer care agent for DigiPlay.. but it’s not like I wanted to do it. They called me for an interview on a Saturday, showed up.. it was a job fair
I’m hungry, probably half-asses the interview. Couple weeks later, they call me in for training but really didn’t want to go cause I couldn’t believe after I did everything at utech to not end up in this position.. a this me life gone to.
Went to training.. they showed us all the possibilities of the company and I became optimistic that it would work out. Passed training, started April 1, 2016.
Customer care life was hard. Customers screaming in your ears 7 out of 8 hours of the day, the shift hours, and the pay.. LOL. I use to reach the building and feel drained before I even got on the floor. But the aim was, if I’m in the building.. I have to come off that floor
Fast forward, end of Aug 2016.. one of the SM Execs left..its pretty important that we don’t burn bridges & network w/ people.. the other SM exec who knew me while we worked on Digicel Rising Stars (I did SM for another brand) knew I was in CC & asked me to help with a promotion
So I had CC work and would ask Marketing for the schedule so I could change my shifts to help them. I’d probably go to a promotion tonight and reach work for my 8 am shift the next day: Bam I land an interview ... 5 week later I got the job
My CC manager was nice enough to sign my release early .. so I started my new role. I said I was gonna give myself a year in customer care; everybody kept telling me that I wouldn’t get anything before 2 years. I was in customer care for 7 months
Honestly it’s rough here.. but if you work here, you can survive anything. Launch a campaign in 3 days... the backlash.. There were great times, and times when I questioned If I wanted to be here and if I was going a good job
I’ve probably covered every type of event there is - 1000 track meets, 500 football matches, 100 cricket matches, concerts, launches, TV show, everything.

The numbers are exaggerated lol
2 days ago I celebrated my 4 year anniversary with the company.. today I’m celebrating my exit. It’s been a great 4 years.. big up everyone who has been there with me, all the friendships made.
