Good things that have happened in 2020 so far: a thread
The media is solely focusing on all the negative stuff that has happened this year so far, so I wanted to write this thread to remind y’all that there’s still good things going on. However, they are being masked my all the negative news that the media is pushing out :(.
1. You woke up today!!!

People almost never appreciate the fact that they are waking up to a brand new day. Get up do something productive like exercise or try out a new hobby. Be happy that you woke up today because 150,000 people didn’t.
2. Efforts are being made to protect our coral reef

The island nation of Palau banned sunscreen known to contain 10 chemicals that bleach coral reefs and pollute the ocean. There is hope that more countries will follow this lead and pass further legislation to protect oceans.
3. A New York pizza company puts pictures of dogs on their pizza boxes to help them get adopted.
4. Makeup specifically for Parkinson’s Disease

Artist Terry Bryant used her Parkinson’s Diagnosis to create a makeup brand called Guide Beauty, so people with Parkinson’s can use beauty products easier.
5. A Detroit nonprofit is helping save the bees!

Brian Peterson created the nonprofit Bees in the D that uses can act lots and roofs in Detroit for beekeeping. As of now, there are 160 and counting hives across Michigan, since the company is starting to grow in popularity.
6. A little boy got a second chance at life

A 6-year-old from North Carolina got a second chance at living after days before the new year he fell into a frozen lake from a pier. Carpenter Scott Lingerfelt risked his own life to save the boy to ensure that he sees another year.
