I only have 1,111 hours right now and I really don’t think we are going back. So I will only have 288 hours left to back up at a different school. Since I’m a senior it’s illegal for me to go back to school to finish since it supposed to be just for high school students.
The Cosmetology State Board isn’t going to do anything to help and it’s sounds like my instructor isn’t going to even try and push for us to come back. What really sucks about going to another school instead of being able to finish at this trade is that the trade school is cheap,
All I had to pay for were my books, scrubs, and my kit which has costed me about $1,000. But going to a college to finish out will cost me $3,000, I’m not 100% sure how much it’ll cost since I can’t call and ask since schools are closed but I’ve heard it’s about that much.
And I would really like to get my full cosmetology license through this college which would be another 200 hours so probably about another $3,000. My dad offered to pull out $4,000 form his 401K so I would just have to pay the other $2,000 but he has already lost $12,000
From the market crash which means they don’t have much else in there retirement and the last thing I want to do is take money from my parents life savings. My plan was to get a house by next summer and I was going to get a house with a separate live quarters in the basement
So my parents can live there rent free so they can save up for retirement and travel like they have always wanted to do, but having to go to another school for Cosmetics’s will set me back almost a year from getting a house and from getting my license.
