Holy Shit I rewatched Vol 2 last night and realised something

When "The Chain" starts playing at the end of the movie, it's very hushed and echoed to start, and starts when Peter remembers his friends and Mother, who tied him back to his human side.
Now, Peter's cassette player, and music, is used as a symbol throughout both movies to represent Peter's humanity in an alien world. When Ego destroyed it, he was trying to crush Peter's human side, to make him "grow up" and commit to his celestial "duties".
To that point, everything on the planet was generated by Ego, and, implied by earlier dialogue to be "life as Ego imagined it would be".

Peter reconnecting with his human side at his lowest point is also what gives him the will to fully take control of "the light".
So what I'm saying is...

Peter, in that moment, is so connected with his human side, and knows his songs so well, that... the music isn't background score. Peter makes The Chain play through the caves VIA his powers.

He WILLS THE MUSIC INTO EXISTANCE.
In other words: Peter uses the tools of his abuser, the strength he gained from the worst parts of himself, and used it to not only protect his humanity, but also rebuild/create it.

And people say that Marvel doesnt have themes/is just Rollercoaster trash.
Also, The Chain is a song about staying tied down to someone, even when it isn't healthy for you and you want to break loose.

Perfect song to underscore a son having to draw from the same thing that makes his father so despicable in order to destroy his father.
