I just paid a friends water bill because she got a letter in the mail saying the city of Phx would be cutting her services today.

When I called I asked why she’s getting this letter when @MayorGallego said utilities would not be cut of during this quarantine.
The response was-

“You’re correct, we will not cut off her water, but we will place a “restricted plate” on her water valve that will greatly reduce her water pressure.
It will be enough to wash your hands and flush the toilet twice a day.”
So people are struggling and the city found a loophole?

Yea, we won’t cut your water off, but you better not poop more than twice a day. I hope you can shower with a light drip coming out the shower head.

Are you kidding me right now? You’re forcing people give up their last paychecks just so they and their children can shower!

This is completely unacceptable. The city is half assing their responsibility to our residents.
People need access to water.
Did they forget we live in a desert?
There should be a 100% moratorium on cutting residents utilities. No loopholes allowed.
