But this was immediately followed by The Great Consolidation and then The Great Pandemic. I've spent weeks just readjusting. And now that the dust is settling, one quote from one smart guy is booming in my mind: "Men make their own history, but they do not make it as they please"

I believe that we need visionary democratic socialist leadership now more than ever. I believe that the crisis can break in our favor. But I also have a greater reverence than I did just a few weeks ago for the awesome might of circumstances unfolding independent of our actions
