How to make your characters more realistic!
Sometimes, we create our characters to be flawless people. We create females with perfect skin and beautiful eyes and unrealistic beauty standards.
We create males with sharp jawlines and lots of muscles and more unrealistic standards.
Hopefully this will help you avoid that!
1) Give them flaws!! What human doesn’t have flaws? Answer: every single one of us has them. Whether it’s physical or not, we all have something we may not be proud of. Maybe your character has a terrible temper. Or maybe they care too much about themselves.
2) Can they have witty comebacks and remarks? Yes. Absolutely. But something I’ve noticed a lot is that these “glorified” characters never seem to lose an argument or fight. Have them be defeated! It makes them seem that much more real, since we will not always win in life.
3) It’s okay for them to cry. This character may act like they are the toughest person alive and nothing can get to them, but that is not true. Better yet, save it for when they are finally beaten down.

Because when the most unbreakable character breaks, crap is going down.
4) Have them make mistakes. Have them be mislead and betrayed.
5) not all characters will be beautiful and breathtaking! Everybody has their own unique looks, and not every single character in your story will be breathtaking.
6) think of them like they’re a real person. Think to yourself, “would a real person be able to do this? Would a real person who experiences emotion and pain react this way?”

That’s going to be all for this thread!
I hope you’re all doing well! I love you!
