They gave us some great head to head battles and only a Marquez v Morales fight was missing for a complete set

After a thrilling fight, Morales won via a split decision although many felt that Barrera had done enough to get the nod
June 2002

Just over 2 years after their first bout Erik Morales and Marco Antonio Barrera did battle again, this time for the WBC featherweight title

In a more technical battle it was Barrera that got the nod via a UD although many thought Morales had done enough. 1-1
Nov 2003

Manny Pacquiao stopped Marco Antonio Barrera in round 11 to end a terrific run for Barrera which included victories over Morales, Naseem Hamed, Kevin Kelley and Johnny Tapia

A thrilling start saw Pacquiao put Marquez down 3 times in the opening round but incredibly Marquez fought back to earn a draw

Barrera won via a MD and it was he who took the trilogy win 2-1

Many wrote Morales off after defeats to Barrera but he put in a tremendous display to win via a UD

Following the loss Pacquiao would go on an incredible run

Just under a year from their first bout Manny Pacquiao and Erik Morales met again

Pacquiao stopped Morales in the 10th round to became the first man to stop Morales in his 52nd career fight to avenge his defeat and even the score. 1-1

Manny Pacquiao stopped Erik Morales for the 2nd time, this time in the 3rd round to end their rivalry with a 2-1 advantage

This would not be the end for Morales though as he went on to pick up one more world title and become a 4 weight champ

In what would be the only meeting between the pair, Juan Manuel Marquez beat Marco Antonio Barrera via a UD to claim the WBC super featherweight title and become a 2 weight world championđŸ”„đŸ„Š

This would be Barrera’s final world title fight

Manny Pacquiao beat Marco Antonio Barrera via a UD, 4 years after stopping him in their first fight

Barrera who showed great heart and courage retired after the bout but would return a year later

Next up for Pacquiao was a Marquez rematch

Almost 4 years on from their first meeting Manny Pacquiao beat Juan Manuel Marquez via a SD to claim the WBC super featherweight title and become a 4 weight world champ

In a close fight many believed that Marquez deserved the decision

Over 3 years on from their second meeting Juan Manuel Marquez and Manny Pacquiao met again, this time at a 144 catch weight

In yet another close fight Pacquiao got the decision again to defend the WBO welterweight title much to the annoyance of Marquez’s team
December 2012

8 and a half years on from their first meeting, Juan Manuel Marquez finally got his win over Manny Pacquiao with a stunning KO in round 6

The fight was billed as ‘Fight of the Decade’ and it did not disappoint
