I just did a @MicrosoftTeams meeting with my class, and here are a few of my thoughts in a Twitter thread.

1. Open the chat on one device & view your participants list on another. This makes it easier to see what they're saying & muting those who forget.

(1/x)
2. Set up some procedures at the beginning. Here were mine: everyone is muted unless called upon, use the chat for quick responses, ! = agree, 1 if you have something to say on video, ask all questions in the chat.

3. Give free talk time. (Cont'd).

(2/x)
3 cont'd. For the last 3-4 minutes, I let Ss chat/talk with one another however they wanted. This opportunity was important for me, so that they could connect with their friends.

4. It is kind of awkward & difficult to manage... but 110% worth it. Students miss their Ts & their friends. They loved this.

5. @MicrosoftTeams does not have a gallery feature. If this is important to you, maybe try @CanvasLMS & make Ss moderators.

(4/x)
6. Seriously though... it was the highlight of my week! Thinking about breaking down into small groups lunch bunches for next time. Thinking that might be easier to see/chat?
