This will be a thread on the upcoming harbor battle that will occur between the Alliance and the Yeagerists. In it I’ll list the abilities and advantages and disadvantages each side has, my predictions on what will happen and the outcome.
First of all, lets talk about the Alliance. What abilities and advantages does the Alliance have?
1) Titan shifters:
A) Armin: While his titan may be dangerous to the hostage, it can still serve as a good distraction and can threaten Yeagerists that are far from the hostage.

B) Annie: She is a very dangerous force just by virtue of her fighting skills, she took out many Veteran Survey Corps members during the Female Titan arc, took out all of Levi Squad and then absolutely curb-stomped Eren. I wager she can take out most if not all of the Yeagerists.
C) Reiner: While he may have terrible fighting skills, Reiner is a good punching bag and can take many beatings and still come back for the fight, regardless of whether he can harden or not.
D) Falco: He may be a child, but he is still a trained Marleyan Warrior. He may not be able to control the Jaw titan effectively but he can still inflict damage. Similar to how Eren took out twenty pure titans on his own the first time he transformed.
E) Pieck: Now that her titan is disarmed of its armament, it is far less useful but as demonstrated in 126 and other chapters, it can excel without them. Such as when it was used to sneak underwater. This allows for more varied planning that will no doubt take part in the fight.
2) Competent Alliance members.
A) Armin: All round genius, saved the day multiple times with his intelligence and was even declared one of the Survey Corps’ greatest weapons by Erwin Smith himself.

B) Hanji: Made to be the 14th commander by Erwin Smith himself and is another genius in the Alliance. All of her theories were proven to be correct over the course of the show which has contributed to winning battles and has shown good leadership abilities.
C) Jean: Has good fighting abilities, proven himself to be a good leader that can read situations quickly and could even be the next commander of the Survey Corps should Hanji die.
D) Magath: While he may be a racist Marleyan that can’t get over propaganda, he has proven himself to be a good planner during the Marley arc when he helped Willy fool Eren into the trap that was Liberio.
His cooperation will be required for the Alliance.

E) Mikasa: She is a battle hardened Ackermann, she kept up with Marley’s strongest titan and defeated multiple shifters with little to no help. She alone should be able to take most if not all the Yeagerists out.
F) Connie: He is a good fighter I guess.
3) Allies within the Yeagerists.
Due to Keith’s actions, the Alliance has allies within the Yeagerists, Cadet Corps members who have been tasked with fighting Floch once the right opportunity appears, this will no doubt help the Alliance greatly.

Now, to move on to the disadvantages of the Alliance.
1) Ambiguity around titan shifting.
We still don’t know whether titan shifters can still transform into titans as Ymir should not be building titans for the Alliance. This proving true would hamper the alliance greatly.

2) Ambiguity around hardening.
Eren gave the order to unharden everything, we still don’t know whether Reiner, Annie etc. should be able to harden. While this may not matter in the grand scheme of things, it proving true will also hamper the Alliance.

3) Hostage situation.
This battle will be a hostage situation, it’ll prove hard to defeat Floch and extract Kiyomi alive. We don’t even know whether they realize she is being hostage or not.

4) Thunder Spears.
Though I’m not convinced on this point, I have to point out that the Yeagerists possess Thunder Spears which are very effective against titans.

Lets move on to the Yeagerist side of things, what advantages and disadvantages do they have? I concluded that they have a single advantage and that is.
1) Numerical superiority.
They have an advantage of numbers that can overwhelm an enemy with ease given they are led properly.

Now on to the disadvantages.
1) An incompetent leader.
Floch has proven weak and unable to lead properly, he lets his guard down and failed most of the tasks given to him despite having many advantages.

2) Weak and unskilled soldiers.
It seems that many of the Yeagerists are mere recruits that do not possess enough training to wield their gear or fight against titans.

Now that I’m done with the advantages and disadvantages of each side, I’ll move on to what I predict will happen and the outcome.
I think the battle will go alongside these lines: Armin transforms infront of the port to distract the Yeagerists, Pieck, Hanji and Jean sneak underwater and to where Kiyomi is held to rescue her and then a fight ensues between Annie, Mikasa, Reiner and the Yeagerists.
Keith will maybe make an appearance, solving the “who is the shadow man” question that popped up in 126 and I feel that he might die if he does appear. Not prepared for that.
The outcome will most likely be a relatively easy victory for the Alliance with perhaps a single member dead among them. I think Hanji is the most likely to die as I feel that Jean’s character will not end right now. I believe that no Alliance member will die but I’m not Isayama.
I’m eager to see how Isayama will prevent this from being a one sided slaughter as that will disappoint many fans but I simply believe that he must die a pathetic death for trying to fight the most powerful people in AoT.
Well, this is the end of the thread, thanks for reading anybody who did.
On a side note, I think that Kiyomi is worked with Floch for mutual benefit but ehh we’ll know in a few days.
