it's kind of wild to me that people like...get mad...that other people enjoy playing d&d (as a system, not the general concept)
there's a weird snobbery about people playing d&d instead of other systems due to its recent mainstream appeal, i guess? i've played a handful of systems that i really like and that are all really good for different things but i tend to go back to 5e
or get mad that people modify d&d in ways to facilitate certain kinds of play instead of just playing systems that out of the box are more suited to that. sometimes it's just more fun to push and customize a system you're familiar with for one game, you know
i get where it comes from, i guess, i just don't think it does anyone any good. it it doesn't make diehard d&d fans branch out into other systems and it does discourage people new to the hobby who got into it via d&d
anyway. d&d is fun. playing other systems is also fun. just stop being jerks to each other, was literally the only point of tweeting all of this. just be nice! we're playing pretend games! we can all play the ones we like!
