The search for Matts first costume was complicated. We searched lots of looks, I would say around 600 photos were taken and time was running out but each fitting got closer to the end result. Until Matt suggested Einstein as a reference and we found the vintage tweed jacket.

Today is National Tweed Day so in honour of that I will talk about the two tweeds used in series 5. The original used in Episodes 3, 4 & 5 was the vintage Harris Tweed. A Mackenzie two by two dogtooth it was a 1960’s jacket which I thought was appropriate for our new series

The Raggedy Man look involved recreating the 10th Doctors regeneration costume in order to distress it. There was only one tie and we needed 3 so we recreated it through embroidery, printing, painting and finally sewing.
