🚨🚨CONFERENCE UPDATE🚨🚨
As Chair of #AHSR2020, I am writing with important news about #AHSR2020 and #AHSR2021.

Due to the impact of #COVID-19, #AHSR2020 is moving virtual and #AHSR21 will be in Providence in Oct 2021.

Please kindly help to RT this info and keep reading. 1/
The Planning Committee did not make this decision lightly. We are making this decision now – 6+ months in advance – because the health and well-being of our community needs to be our #1 priority. 2/
We considered a “wait & see” approach, but the longer we wait, the steeper the financial penalties we would face for cancellation or postponement, and the more stress and uncertainty we would place on our community members (especially early career folks w/limited conference $) 3/
The AHSR community is more than a conference, and we are designing programming to foster the sense of connection you have come expect. Here is what we'll do:
1. Broadcast virtual plenary talks Oct 15-16 2020
2.Accept poster submissions (portal open April 15 – June 1, 2020) 4/
3. Host virtual poster sessions
4. Coordinate virtual poster slams & awards for early career researchers
5. Offer a monthly virtual workshop series from November 2020 – September 2021
6. Facilitate a virtual mentoring program to connect early and established researchers 5/
AHSR 2020 activities will be offered at no cost as a service to our community. Participants will be required to register for each event. Donations to support AHSR programming and awards for early career researchers will be accepted with gratitude. 6/
