fallacies taught in hs

ad hominem - when someone attacks your personal life instead of being relevant to the discussion (ex: pokpok ka naman eh!)

straw man - distorting someone's argument to make it look false (ex: solusyon medikal kaysa militar? doktor mismo magbabantay?)
argumentum ad ignorantiam (appeal to ignorance) - saying that it is false because it has not yet been proven true, vice versa. (ex: walang epekto yung pagboboto niyo ng mga bagong senador, magiging ganto parin sa susunod)
poisoning the well - when someone presents negative and IRRELEVANT information about a certain person to discredit their reputation. (ex: vico sotto's situation)
sige dagdagan pa naten

red herring - an irrelevant topic is discussed upon in order to divert attention (ex:

us : "....so sir ano po gagawin niyo sa 275 billion?"
du30: "dI KAYO NAKIKINIG????"
us: "hindi naman po pero paano po yung-"
du30: "PAPATAYIN KO KAYO!! PAPATAYIN!!"
wishing philosophy would be a required minor in college, it's so much fun. :-(
