A humane, principled leader of the opposition will be needed now more than ever, it’s a shame Jeremy Corbyn won’t be around to provide that - many lessons to be learnt from the “Corbyn moment”, but key is how capitulating to middle class reaction on Brexit killed of Corbynism
And the role that many on the “left”, including close allies of Corbyn, played in this disastrous turn - the shift on Brexit, and the idea that Labour “had no choice”, is born of a deep seated disconnect between Labour and working class communities
As well as an analysis informed more by liberal moralism and cack-handed electoralism, rather than a principled socialist analysis. So it is crucially important the broad left learns from the Corbyn moment, rebuilds in working class communities and pushes political education.
Otherwise, the tragedy of what could have been during the Corbyn years will simply be succeeded by a series of ever deepening farces.
