This comes right from the bottom of my heart. I have been a frequent visitor to Kurukshetra since I was seven.

Every time I visited the historic town, I felt a sense of inner spiritual awakening and why not this is the land where Bhagavad Gita was revealed.

I want this one town to become immensely popular. As popular as say Ayodhya or Prayagraj. The town has never been as popular on the pilgrimage map as Ayodhya, Mathura, Vrindavan, etc. I ask why? Trust me, the town has a lot to offer that must be explored.

The breathtaking Brahma Sarovar (pond of Lord Brahma), for example, in Thanesar (Kurukshetra) is popular for thousands of devotees take the holy dip here during the Solar Eclipse. A major attraction why is this not promoted as Kurukshetra's Kumbh?

Or this magnificent, 45-ton Bronze Chariot in Purshotam Bagh of Kurukshetra, not very far from the Brahma carrying Lord Krishna and one of the greatest archers, Arjuna depicting a scene of the epic Mahabharata war. Why is it not that popular amongst us?

Even on a political level, not promoting the "Dharmakshetra" is a manifestation of the weak State that we are becoming. The Mahabharata war is all about not caring to be politically correct. We need to embrace the lessons of being politically incorrect from Kurukshetra.

Some developments have taken place under the Khattar regime- speaking at Gita Mahotsav, another major attraction of Kurukshetra, CM announced development of pilgrimage sites in a grand manner. Religious sites at the banks of Saraswati river will be developed as well

But more should happen, Kurukshetra should become the representative of the Indian civilisation. Every time a foreign dignitary visits Taj Mahal, I wonder why we want to showcase an ordinary tomb, not the land of Bhagavad Gita, as our civilisational legacy.
