There’s value in men talking to women about experiences both men and women share, of course, but I’m thinking there’s even more value in men listening to women about the experiences men can’t possibly directly know anything about.
Don't get me wrong, it's great we have shared experiences. Men and women share the state of being a human, after all. But the one and only thing we don't share is our sex. And being born female leads to very different life experiences than being born male.
I did have a conclusion to this thread but couldn't find the words so talked to @Kings_of_Lydia who nailed it:

"Being female or male is a condition of being a human. So how can we recognise each other's humanity if we don't first recognise each other's sex?"
