Bernie lost because a social democrat can’t win the Democratic nomination. The party is even more conservative now—It’s teeming with never-Trumpers. I was wrongly optimistic that the Dems might get caught off guard and not be able to stop Bernie. In the end, they got it together.

If you think about it 2016 and 2020 were probably the best hopes for someone like Bernie to capture the nomination. Running against a wildly unpopular establishment candidate and then against a crowded field of moderates. Still couldn’t do it.

I’m not saying this to depress people! Consider it a when one door closes, another door opens sort of thing.
